ICAC - Internet Crimes Against Children - Protect Your Computer Today! Report Internet Crimes Against Children!

The Tellico Plains Police Department is totally committed to the protection of our children. Our Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC Unit) works every aspect of child exploitation through the use of the Internet. We have all cautioned our children about “stranger danger”, however the child predators are now using the Internet to enter our homes and entice our children to meet with them for illicit purposes. The predators who stalk our children are much more transient, more sophisticated, and in many cases more brutal than in the past. Today if a child is reported missing, one of the first things we want to see is any computers the child may have had access to.

The predators prey upon the most naïve and innocent of our society, without regard to gender, age, race or jurisdictional boundary. Their success at avoiding detection and prosecution seems only to fuel their seemingly insatiable lust to victimize others. Although the public sees the victims as photographs on posters with names such as Tom, Bobby, Linda, Donna or David, to others who know and love them and to the Detectives charged with resolving their disappearance, they are so much more. Clearly, our children are our most precious assets and their safety is truly the measure by which our Nation’s commitment to life and liberty is judged. Our ICAC Unit’s primary responsibility is to provide immediate investigative support and application of the most current expertise available, in crimes targeting our children through the use of the Internet.

If you or your organization would like to schedule training on how to best protect your children against Internet Predators, you may contact us at (423) 253-2030 or you can use our online form.

If you suspect that your child has been approached online by an Internet Predator please contact us as soon as possible at (423) 253-2030 or you can contact us anonymously online.
