The Tellico Plains Police Department is a member of an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Task Force is a cooperative effort involving a number of law enforcement agencies within east Tennessee.
The Tellico Plains Police Department is responsible for the investigations within the Tenth Judicial District. All of the Investigators who work with the ICAC Unit are specially trained and have the skills and forensic technology to conduct investigations into the sexual exploitation of children on the internet.
It is our goal to actively and aggressively seek out those who would prey on our community’s future, our children. We work with Local, State and Federal agencies in a cooperative effort to ensure that our children are protected while using the internet.
The Tellico Plains Police Department also provides educational opportunities to schools and parent/teacher groups, civic groups and faith based organizations. The training provides tactics and information on how to maintain a safe environment on the Internet and also how to look for the signs that a child may be in danger of being victimized by an online predator.
